Introducing SRP AirOutshield. Located behind the exterior cladding, SRP AirOutshield is a breathable, 3-ply spun bonded polypropylene fabric that is used as an air barrier and drainage plane for rain screen applications and in wall assemblies where the wall is typically insulated between the studs. The composition of SRP AirOutshield allows vapour from within the wall assembly to pass through the membrane onto the exterior side of the membrane, where it dissipates.

SRP AirOutshield was developed in Scotland after extensive research conducted by the A. Proctor Group. While being inert and recyclable, SRP AirOutshield is waterproof, U.V. stabilized, rot proof and tear resistant; able to keep air and water out while allowing water vapour to exit from within the wall assembly. SRP AirOutshield reduces the risks of mould and mildew and protects the insulation as it allows any trapped moisture to permeate out to the exterior cavity of the wall while maintaining the function of an air and weather barrier.

SRP AirOutshield is typically used in commercial, light-industrial, residential, and exterior retrofit applications. The membrane is inert and can be recycled into its original bead form. These beads are then used to manufacture other products.
